Paste your roster, choose the number of teams, and get fair kickball sides in seconds. Balance by skill, spread your pitchers, and share the lineups.
Keep together / apart (optional)
Add rules and the generator searches for a split that meets every one. If that is impossible it tells you which rule failed.

Kickball teams without the schoolyard drama
Kickball is simple enough to organise in a park, and the hardest part is usually picking sides. A random generator turns that into a ten-second job: paste the names, choose how many teams you need, and press the button. Everyone sees the same fair shuffle, so nobody has to be last pick. Re-roll next week and the sides change, which is how a casual social league keeps its mix of friends.
Setting up a game
- Paste your roster, one name per line.
- For one game, choose 2 teams. For a tournament night, choose 4 or more.
- Put your pitchers or captains first and tick First N names are captains to spread them.
- Press Generate teams, rename each side and send the lineups to everyone.
Balancing a mixed-skill group
Kickball attracts everyone from serious athletes to people who came for the drinks afterwards. If the strongest kickers and fielders end up together, the game is over by the third inning. Give each person a rating, perhaps 1 for newcomer, 2 for casual and 3 for experienced, and tick Balance teams by skill rating. The generator evens the averages and tells you the gap. Positions are a matter for your captains, because the tool assigns players to teams, not to positions.
Mixed teams and co-ed leagues
If your league requires a minimum number of each gender on the field, run the two lists separately: draw the first list into your chosen number of teams, draw the second list into the same number of teams, and then combine team 1 from each, team 2 from each and so on. The sizes will match as long as each list is split with the same number of teams. This is a manual step, and the generator does not keep track of the rule for you.
Names, order and rotation
After the teams are set, a few quick decisions keep the game moving: a kicking order (copy the team list and have each team shuffle it), a rotation for the pitcher, and a team name for the scoreboard. The team name generator includes funny and sports categories. For the kicking order, paste a team into the random team generator with a team size of one to shuffle it.

- How many players are on a kickball team?
- It depends on your league's rules, and pickup games use whoever turns up. Set the number of teams or people per team to match the game you are playing.
- How do I make two even kickball teams?
- Paste the names, set the number of teams to 2, and press Generate teams. Add a rating after each name and tick Balance teams by skill rating for an even game.
- Can I keep a pitcher on each team?
- Yes. Put your two pitchers at the top of the list and tick First N names are captains. One lands on each team.
- What about co-ed rules?
- Leagues with co-ed rules often require a minimum number of each. A simple approach is to draw each group separately: run the list of women and the list of men separately into the same number of teams, then combine the matching teams. The generator does not track gender, so you apply the rule yourself.
- Can I make more than two teams for a tournament?
- Yes. Choose the number of teams, then use the team name generator for names and your own bracket for the schedule.
- Can I share the lineups?
- Yes. Copy teams, Download image and Copy share link are all on the results bar.
